The Halloween Movie Blog is Back…
Yes! This old drawing of FrankenChrist; crucified in the Carpathians, yellow-monster-ichor oozing from fresh stigmata, while midnight goats pray beneath crescent moons, and Leyak Drac wriggles obscenely through the sky, pink lungs flapping like bat wings and dangling viscera dribbling doo-doo; tells it true.
The Halloween movie blog is back.
And spooks and fiends, have I got a season for you!
Every day this October (gonna try and fail to get ‘em posted round 8 AM ET) tune in right here to Jasper Oliver Dot Net for an oh-so-generous write-up of a different Halloweeny movie. Kiddie films, plain-ole autumn films, monster pictures, the hardest of hardcore horror, elegant old spookshows and more from across the great gamut of cinema’s excretions!
For each one I’ll provide a hand-drawn poster, a poetic response, a reactive review, and a collage detailing how many decapitations, flaccid dicks, and horse-drawn buggies were in the picture. Why? Because it’s Halloween. All. Month. Long.
I’ll also quote and blurb some other viewer’s takes, tell you whether or not your kids should watch it (in my erudite estimation), provide links (if able) to where you can find the film, and give it a score out of five in the following criteria: Autumn Vibes, Scares & Chills, Cultural & Cinematic Import and Monster Action.
Lastly, and new this year, I’ll be hinting the next days movie with the following promise: Correctly guess in the comments section what the upcoming film is going to be and it’s a pumpkin-spice latte on me at your nearest cafe. Participating players get three guesses each (no cheating Dudley!)
Have fun and watch along if you dare!
